Gator is a 19 year old female Green Winged Macaw with a colorful past. She came to Dr.Curtis 16 years ago after being bitten by a Caiman (an alligator- like reptile) on her right wing. Due to the severity of the infection and the intensive care needed for recovery, Dr Curtis purchased her from the Alligator farm in order to try to save the infected wing. She did extremely well until 10 years later, when a bone cyst from the original injury flared up and would not respond to treatment. Although Dr C had to amputate the end of her wing, she is currently healthy and not the least bit worried by her previous injury. She gets bored easily in a cage but is very happy hanging out up in reception area with her flock. She is a locksmith and has dismantled many cages so all of the doors on her cage must be padlocked to prevent her escape. She likes to dance, show her pretty wings, and only talks in private.
